Gossip Girl Spoilers, Speculation & Gossip

The O.C.’s Willa Holland joining Gossip Girl

Saturday, September 6th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

gossipgirlcast.jpg

Another former OC cast member casting news. Willa Holland, who played Marissa’s little sister with attitude, Caitlin, is going to appear on Gossip Girl for a three episode arc. And the name they picked for her? Agnes… AGNES??? Sounds more like the name of a great great aunt to me!

Holland would play Agnes, a young model for Eleanor Waldorf who befriends Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) but also tries to tempt her over to the dark side (think threesomes and stripteases).

Yep, more sexing up for Gossip Girl!

Do you swoon when you watch Serena and Dan together on Gossip Girl? Well, you just have that much more to swoon about because it turns out the two lovebirds are also hooking up off the screen too!

We hear that toothsome twosome Blake Lively and Penn Badgley — whose uptown/downtown relationship keeps the hit show sizzling — have quietly started dating in real life.

“No one is really supposed to know that,” laughs an insider. “I was told by a friend of the family.”

The new tryst has meant Lively disentangling herself from her former boyfriend, and Burbank High School classmate, actor/model Kelly Blatz.

Hopefully they broke off those other relationships before Daily News Gatecrasher published the story!

A Gossip Girl Soundtrack in the making?

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

If you love the music on Gossip Girl, you just may be in luck. Ausiello has spilled the beans on a potential soundtrack project to go along with the show.

While I can’t guarantee you that there will be a GG soundtrack, I can assure you that the thought has crossed Josh Schwartz’s mind. “We’re figuring that out right now,” he says. “I think we’re gonna come up with an aggressive sort of digital way to do it that really fits with our audience.”

So which songs do you hope make the cut for a Gossip Girls soundtrack? Miss Eighty 6 is featured quite prominently in many episodes, but so are songs by Vanessa Carlton, Rihanna, Joss Stone and more.

The privileged prep school teens on Manhattan’s Upper East Side first learn that Serena Van Der Woodsen (Lively) is back in town the way they learn all the important news in their lives - from the blog of the all-knowing albeit ultra-secretive Gossip Girl. No one knows Gossip Girl’s identity, but everyone in this exclusive and complicated vicious circle relies on her text messages for the latest scoop. Serena’s closest friend, Blair (Meester), is just as surprised as everyone else to find that Serena has suddenly ended her self-imposed exile to boarding school and returned to Manhattan. The tension between Blair and Serena isn’t lost on Gossip Girl, who is determined to uncover and fuel any and all scandals. Does it involve Serena’s brother Eric (Paolo), Blair’s boyfriend Nate (Crawford) or Nate’s buddy Chuck (Westwick)? Maybe it has something to do with Dan (Badgley) and his sister Jenny (Momsen), whose middle-class background keeps them on the fringes of this exclusive clique. Even the parents - from Serena’s mother Lily (Rutherford), a former ballerina/rock-groupie, to Nate’s high-powered father Howie “The Captain” Archibald (Robards), to Dan and Jenny’s dad Rufus (Settle), a former rocker turned art gallery owner - are aware that their sons and daughters are constantly checking their Sidekicks to read Gossip Girl’s latest sightings and overheard tidbits. Overriding all the shifting friendships, jealousies and turmoil in this wealthy and complex world, the central mystery remains - Who Is Gossip Girl?

Kristen Bell is the Gossip Girl

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Kristen Bell - best known as Veronica Mars - is set to be involved in a new CW project, this time as narrator of the new Gossip Girl series. Her voice will be the one of the Gossip Girl, whose identity remains unknown, at least for know! She reports on all the gossip and goings on, meaning who is hooking up, who is cheating, and more!

Wonder if the Gossip Girl’s identity is revealed if she will be joining the cast on-screen? You have to think that is what the CW execs are thinking, otherwise why tap such a high profile person to the job?

Scoop on CW’s new Gossip Girl

Sunday, May 27th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

gossipgirl.jpg

The teen book series Gossip Girl by Cecily Von Ziegesar has been picked up as a series to air on the CW this fall. The series is being marked as a Sex in the City for teens and beyond and follows a group of Manhattan teens, all of whom are pretty well off. So shopping sprees (only the good stuff!), trips to the Hamptons, all the exclusive private schools and of course the hottest clubs for partying in NYC.

There will also be plenty of relationships, both on the best friend basis and with guys, so expect fighting, hookups, cheating and all the typical things you see from spoiled teenage girls.

The show will begin airing in the fall on Wednesdays at 9 on the CW.
